Midsummer and the Terminator

Sage and myself went to the cinema yesterday to see the new Terminator film, I'm not going to go into details but we both enjoyed the film. On the way home, we went past the Park to see that the circus had come to town.
The Tall Ships were at Gloucester Docks a few weeks ago but as we cut through to get to the cinema i noticed a few were still here. I also took a nosy at the new Gloucester Quays as it was my first time here since it opened. I did take some more pictures but for some reason i cant find them in my file!!

The garden had a makeover this morning and iv moved a lot of the potted plants around, i like it!

And finally wishing you all a wonderful Summer Solstice, a little belated, but Midsummer is here, have fun and keep safe..

Babies!!

Yay, baby Blackbirds.. It seems one has fledged onto the near by branch and has stayed there for a couple of days. Mum and dad have been brilliant parents, i watched as they built the nest in the Elder at the bottom of the garden and iv enjoyed watching the brooding and the feeding, what an honor i have been given this Spring, thank you Gaia.

In between the rain

May so far has been more like March and April together. The winds have been gale like and iv even seen large hailstones hitting the earth! In between the rain i have managed to capture some flowers there will be more to come..

My next door neighbour has a wonderful garden and we are often swapping plants, seeds and advice. Here, i was kindly given a beautiful Ladies bonnet flower, which i have had my eye on for a number of years and keep praying that the seeds would somehow find their way into my garden, but sadly not as yet, and Carolle was so kind in letting me have this one, i will save the seeds and scatter for next year. Yay!!
Mmmmm, French Lavender, i do have some Lavender growing from seed that i planted in March, but i really wanted some of this French Lavender, so pretty..

I love Daisy flowers, they always remind me of a Country cottage and so i have made sure i have planted plenty.

Not sure of the name of this amazing little blue flower, but i do think its a wild flower, kindly given to me again by Carolle, a few years ago and used to be at the bottom wild part of the garden and this spring i moved to the top of the garden and its doing really well..
The garden seems to be doing well so far, the runner beans are starting to flower and i even have a resident blackbird building her nest in the Elder at the bottom of the garden, how blessed am i?.. The Sunflowers that i grew from the bird seed are also doing well, that great in fact iv had to put them into the garden and i pray each night it stays mild. The Blueberry bush is providing some flowers and the Strawberries are going made, there will be photos of these soon.. In the meantime enjoy you Sunday, wherever you are..

Too much chocolate

Look, iv managed to catch the Robin singing in the Elder!
New kitchen flooring, YAY!!!.....Its been a while since i really posted a post, but then i do have a habit of doing this. I have all the great intentions of writing daily, then life takes over an i find that i have not been online for weeks let alone write for the blogs that i do have.. Summers on her way and iv been really busy with the garden and getting the seeds all ready and potted for when the frosts are all over and i can start putting the young vegetables out. Yesterday i managed to get hold of a Blueberry plant at my local Asdas, so that's put a smile on my face.

Iv been feeling a lot better these past few months, the medication has finally kicked in, although i still do get the odd panic attack but i can handle them now with the breathing and I'm finally coming to terms with being 40. Summers coming and I'm feeling good, need to stop eating all that chocolate though or I'm gonna put on weight, but working out keeps it all in balance, but iv eat a lot of chocolate today! Heheheheheheheh..

Spring Equinox arrives

As the Spring Equinox arrives, the earth is slowly awaken from her slumber. Been really busy in the garden, sowing seeds into their trays and kept warm while we await to be frost free here in the South West of the UK, but the gardens all tidy and all pruned ready and waiting. Been enjoying the wonderful Spring weather we have been blessed with and i watch the garden birds gathering their nest material and settling down in their new homes.

Castwithin

This is Smudge, hes almost 13 years old and we have had him for all those years, hes getting a little slower and pretends to be deaf when it suits him, but is still looking good for his age.

Kits just getting his daily fussing here, how can you not love him!

Just a little view from the Kitchen window. Daffs are now planted out in the garden. I buy a pot every Imbolc and then re plant them in the garden to enjoy the follow years.

Snowflake wishes

Wow, what a weekend last week was, iv seen this amount of snow in the Forest in my childhood but never while living in the City, it was amazing to see. This is the view from my sons bedroom window, i spend hours in here sometimes just watching the birds.

Kits got the right idea, time to just chill out and hibernate
On the way to my friends house we go through the grounds of Gloucester Cathedral and this is just one of the houses that catches my eye every time, this house is right in front of the Cathedral, imagine waking up to that each morning! Also many of you might have seen the Christmas special of Doctor Who, this was filmed in this area and i have some more pictures that i will show next time, so keep an eye out for that.

Imbolc blessings and Snow flakes

We have snow and lots of it and theres still more to come! London has loads of it and its almost like seeing London as an Victorian Christmas Card, now that's a sight to behold. Here in the West we don't seem to have as much, but it has been snowing all day and they say we have more to come.

Wishing you all a wonderful Imbolc Festival...
